Here is a little information about pure rye and silver whiskeys.
A while ago I searched for a rye whiskey made from rye only.
To my surprise Canadian rye whiskey is typically made from wheat or corn!
I found the folowing whiskeys produced solely with rye.
Highspire Pure Rye Whiskey uses locally grown grains for its production and ages it in California wine barrels.
Hochstadter's Slow & Low Rock and Rye Whiskey is made from rye and enhanced with rock candy. I haven't tried that one but if you're partial to sweeter liqueurs you may like it.
Montana Straight Rye Whiskey is another revival brand. It is a white, or "silver" whiskey.
Jim Beam has a rye whiskey, but don't confuse it with the new High Rye from that company, which is 51% corn mash.
Old Overholt Straight Rye Whiskey is apparently the only one that survived the US prohibition, according to wikipedia. (also the source of the photo, in the Public Domain).
